Brainteaser Tour 2021-2024
Tyn Wybenga & Am.OK, now known as the Brainteaser Orchestra, embarked on their first tour to promote their debut album, Brainteaser. The tour included over 30 concerts across Europe, with performances in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Austria.
The tour celebrated the success of their album, which was recognized at the Deutscher Jazzpreis 2022 as the “Debut Album of the Year International.” The jury praised the project as “an energetic gesamtkunstwerk in which jazz develops but an individual sound can also be heard.”
The orchestra’s innovative sound, described by NRC Handelsblad as “fresh, vibrant future jazz,” captivated audiences. Critics from Jazz in Europe noted that the ensemble explores “heavy grooves, mesmerizing ballads, and ethereal soundscapes.” The tour was a significant step for the young group, showcasing their unique approach to music, which involves recording live improvisations and restructuring them into new compositions.
